Information on Direct School Admission (DSA) to Hai Sing Catholic School




2018 DSA Robotics & Engineering


Under the Direct School Admission (DSA), Hai Sing Catholic School will exercise greater flexibility for up to 20% of our yearly secondary one student intake. Please see below for our school DSA criteria. Shortlisted applicants will need to attend an interview.


Robotics & Engineering is open to all Primary 6 pupils who have two or more of the following competencies.

Competency One      :  Robotics building and programming skills.

Competency Two     :   Awards in Robotics, ICT or Science-related competitions.

Competency Three  :  The student must obtain at least a Very Good conduct grade with                                                               relevant leadership skills during the last 2 years in Primary                                                                         School Education.

1. Applicants are required to download DSA Application Form from the school website.

2. Application Form must be submitted personally to the school general office or by registered mail.

3. All Application Forms must reach the school by 06 July 2018.

4. Application Form must be submitted with the following documents. 

  • Certified copies of academic results from Primary 4 to Primary 6 (Mid Year Examination). 
  • Certified copy of CCA records
  • Certified copies of participation and/or awards obtained in any competitions. 
  • Certified copies of student testimonial.

1. Application starts from 07 May 2018 to 06 July 2018.

3. All Application Forms must reach the School by 06 July 2018.

5.** For students not studying in mainstream schools, you are required to request for a letter from Ministry of Education to approve your DSA application. This letter will issue you with a Registration Number which is required in the DSA application form.






1. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified by email by 13 July 2018

2. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.

3. Date and time of the selection interview will be informed.

4. Students are required to be on time for the interview and to wear their school uniform.

1. Selection process will be carried out from 23 July to 31 August 2018.

2. Parents are allowed to accompany their child to school but not during the interview.

3. Parents are advised not to change the assigned interview schedule unless for valid reasons. Please call Mr. Teo or Mdm Lee at 65827864 for rescheduling of the Interview.





1. All DSA applicants will be notified by 31 August 2018 on the outcome of their application. 

  • A Confirmed Offer (CO) or 
  • Placed on Waiting List or 
  • Rejected






1. All DSA applicants will each receive a School Preference Form on 29 October 2018 from their respective primary school.

2. The School Preference Form is to be returned to their respective primary school.

1. DSA applicants who have received more than one Confirmed Offer (CO) may indicate their school of choice (up to a maximum of three choices).

2. The respective primary school will follow up on the DSA process.

3. Once a Confirmed Offer (CO) is accepted by the applicant, 

  • He/she will not be allowed to participate in the Secondary One Posting Exercise. 
  • He/she will not be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of PSLE results.
