Franciscan Missionaries of Mary
Sister Theresa Tsang (1911-1979)
Foundress of Hai Sing Girls' High School
Hai Sing is a Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) School because it was founded by the FMM Sisters.
The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary come from all races and social classes from 67 different nationalities. They work in solidarity with everyone, regardless of race or religion and strive for a more humane and peaceful world.
They help the poor, sick, aged and despised, helping people to discover God. They bring peace, joy and hope, always living for others.
We at Hai Sing endeavor to be like them and bring peace, joy and hope to others and walk the ways of God (Truth) through living for others (Charity). Thus, our school's motto: Truth & Charity.
Our School Supervisor
From 1969 to 1982, Sr Maria Ng held the helm at Hai Sing Girls' High School.
Today, Sr Maria is still our School's Supervisor at Hai Sing Catholic School.
Our FMM Connections
Sr. Bernadetha is our school chaplain who oversees Catholic programmes in the school.
The annual Mission Seminar is held in the Singapore branch of the FMM at Holland Road on 1st Saturday of school year.
However, the school has also reached out to overseas FMM branches, such as the FMM in Kuantan, Malaysia. Students from the SLC team have visited to help out in cleaning, repairs, and renovations in both 2004 and 2005 as part of the FMM Trail and Community Involvement Project.
