DSA Selection Criteria & Process
1) Published DSA categories and criteria
Selection criteria for the respective talent areas as below.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Concert Band welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a concert band in school or in an external club.
- The pupil has represented their school in SYF Arts Presentation and/or achieved an award in other relevant competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Dance welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a dance club in school or an external dance group.
- The pupil has received awards in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation or other relevant competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Robotics Club welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a robotics club in school or an external robotics programme.
- The pupil has received awards in robotics, ICT, or science-related competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Uniformed Groups welcome applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a Uniformed Group in primary school.
- The pupil has demonstrated excellence through strong individual attainment in the relevant progress schemes or awards of their respective Uniformed Group, such as:
CCA Award Scouts Akela Award Boys' Brigade Chief Leading Boy and Gold Award Brownies Chief Commissioner's Award Red Cross Director's Award - The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
Uniformed Groups offered in Hai Sing Catholic School:
- National Cadet Corps (NCC)
- National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC)
- St John Brigade (SJB)
The Hai Sing Catholic School Floorball Team welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a floorball team in school or an external club.
- The pupil has received awards in the National School Games Floorball competition or other relevant competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Badminton Team welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a badminton team in school or an external club.
- The pupil has received awards in the National School Games Badminton competition or other relevant competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
The Hai Sing Catholic School Bowling Team welcomes applications from Primary 6 pupils who meet at least two of the following criteria:
- The pupil is an active member of a bowling team in school or an external club.
- The pupil has received awards in the National School Games Bowling competition or other relevant competitions.
- The pupil has attained at least a Very Good conduct grade and has demonstrated relevant leadership qualities during the last two years of primary school.
Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer.
2) DSA Application Process
Applications for the DSA-Sec are free-of-charge and must be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. Applications open from 6 May 2026 to 2 Jun 2026.
3) DSA Selection Process
All shortlisted candidates will be notified via email by early August 2026 to attend an in-person audition / trial held in Hai Sing Catholic School. More details on the performance task will be provided in the email notification.
4) Release of Application Results
All applicants will be notified of their DSA-Sec application results between 17 August and 28 August 2026 via email.
